places that you can safely cross off, in the city ', are essentially two:
1) the birthplace of Amadeus Mozart Wofgang
2) the Mirabelle Castle
The first and' small , narrow, with little information on the life of the Master.
The second was built by Archbishop prince (the Salzburg was an independent state until the middle 'of the nineteenth century, when it was annexed to Austria) Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau beloved for Salome Alt, and they had 15 children . Beautiful gardens, but the castle now, and 'town hall of the city'.
What to see? Saying "everything else" 's too easy,' cause there's so much to see that we must be able to choose from.
Indisputably essential:
1) Hohensalzburg Fortress, the symbol of the city 'and residence of the prince-archbishops. Gia 'the only access is worth the ticket.
2) the residence now (also) based University 'of Salzburg.
3) the Cathedral, the spiritual center, but also of temporal power.
4) Hellbrunn Castle (a hair out of hand, so 'as the zoo of Salzburg. To get there, go at the southern end of town', direction Anif / Grodig, and then follow signs). Do not miss the water games.
5) Last but not least: the city 'itself . Walk around on foot or with the excellent public transport, and let soak in the atmosphere of this town 'symbol of art and culture.
the evening concerts of every kind and every kind of music, and nightlife for all ages'.
If I have time:
1) House of Mozart . There are many beautiful things inside to see. Too bad that they are all reproductions. The original can be seen by appointment only (and, apparently, on payment of a reasonable small sum). Too bad.
2) the Salzburg Zoo, or Zoo Hellbrunn. I enjoyed it a lot, also because 'in other places where I have the chance' to caress Alpaka and other animals? And if you have kids and 'obligatory destination!
3) gozziliardi the other churches, cemeteries, cocks & decks .... I have not had time to visit, lolly
