The three projects will be on display November 10 to 15 at the 67th International Motorcycle , Hall 18 at the stand of the journal Motorcycling (D79). The same designers showcase their work during the workshop of excellence promoted by the Faculty of Design at the Politecnico di Milano, in collaboration with BMW, 3M and the Municipality of Milan.

The project "Safer Streets" is sponsored by BMW Motorrad Italy in collaboration with the Faculty of Design Politecnico di Milano: the initiative came in 2007 with a workshop with 40 students. The workshop is a formula that teaching hours for students and business training opportunities for the company. The objective was to identify innovative solutions to improve traffic safety on two wheels inside the city, where is the most accidents. Students examined the statistical data all'incidentalità and after looking in an empirical way the danger areas, 13 have proposed the concept of which 3 were taken to an advanced planning stage with the help of 3M. The Municipality of Milan has decided to support the project "Roads safer" by providing ways to implement some of its projects, test them and verify their effectiveness.

THE STREET THAT LIVES
This powerful and poetic project is to solve the difficult problem of visibility, particularly at night, fractures or holes on the asphalt. Since you can not avoid the holes are formed and not being able to intervene immediately due to weather or costs, the solution is to insert an intermediate layer of a contrasting color into the asphalt to make it visible as soon as the hole is formed. In this way, noticing the hole in advance, the rider can avoid the danger safely.
This simple and poetic project Was born to resolve the visibility problems of the Street holes and breaks, especially during the night . The solution is to insert a new coloured asphalt layer between the existing ones, in this way the holes will be visible in the same time the asphalt breaks . Thanks this solution the motorcyclists can see the danger from a long distance, and they have enough time to react in a safe way.
